How many douchers does it take...

To change the wiper blades of a shitty 2009 Dodge Caliber? Or should I say how long does it take for 2 douchers to replace them?! lol

Today was fun, well actually the real fun began last night when I went for a vino run and my wipers broke and the rubber was left dangling on my windshield like two black spaghetti noodles. Then there was more fun to be had at the gas station while me and a 19 year old girl tried to see what size blades I needed...

But the most fun was when I sat freezing in my car reading through my owners manual, clearly going to the wiper sections that the Index told me to go to and could not find anything on what sizes to get. Had to call Curtis and have him use his google machine to find it and still NOTHING!  Its only the most common effin car out there nowadays (not something I'm happy about trust me) but there's no info anywhere.  Anyways I drove home extremely slow and did a googley search of my own and I too found nada.

So today we went to good ol Canadian tire and they have this thingy that you enter your car year and model and it tells you what sizes to get...genius.  Naturally my car would require two different size wipers otherwise it would just be too easy...

After trying to put the dang things together and then realizing we don't need to use all the parts they give you, and after searching the net and watching several youtube how-to video's we did it!!

And what do you know, its the easiest thing you will ever have to fix on your car.

Hi five team work!!

Thanks again bear :)

I GIve Up!!

Guess who didn't show up Saturday? Dave! Good ol' trustworthy Dave. Instead I got a call from Gerry, the guy who came last week and is the reason why Dave has to come and fix the couch again.  Gerry obviously not too thrilled that I called and complained about his work so he decided that he was too busy to come on Saturday.

You can imagine the fumes coming out of my head Saturday morning.  Curtis came over and we went straight to the Brick.  There was no way I was going to play phone tag with these idiots again and  I wanted to see their faces while they spewed up the Bull Shit that they were no doubt going to deliver.

I can't even begin to describe the pointlessness of trying to talk sense with these people. The one lady that I have been dealing with this whole time kept interrupting and changing the conversation to talk about herself. For instance I would mention that I spoke with someone the week before about the couch feeling like it was falling foward and her response is "Oh that was me, I remember you mentioning that, it's so weird the things I remember sometimes."  Well no, actually, it's not weird, it's your job to remember or maybe even perhaps write down customer complaints!!?!?!?!!?!"?!?

Then while showing her the pictures of the couch and how shizzy it looks she sees a picture of Finnegan, well sure enough:  "OMG, Awwwwwwwwwwww what a cutie, what's his name?"  Like what's MY name lady? I'm the person whose money you take every month... Can you FOCUS here?

So anyways after all that insanity, she tells me that she's just called Dave and left Dave a menssage to call her back ASAP and that she will call me ASAP to let me know if Dave can come Money (today).

Wellllll, Obviousllllllly, we have a Liar in Lincoln Park... haha jk, but has ANYONE called me to tell me if Dave is coming by tonight... Nope. So here we are again, and I'm seriously at a lost. Who do I complain to at this point? I think I might actually have an easier time going through Hilary Duff.

Ahhh NOID!!

So The Brick came on Saturday. They sent an adult, that was unexpected, and he was nice and very polite, efficient but as I suspected it made the couch worse.  I'm obviously insanely fed up at this point, I almost wish they'd have never come and "fixed" the couch, it doesn't even look like the same model anymore. I managed to find a google pic of the sofa but in a different shade so that I can prove to the brick that I am not a crazy cat lady that's lonely and wants visitor's on the weekend. It's insanely inconvenient and boring watching someone work while I tell my dog to be quiet and "coucher" for an hour.

As you can see there shouldn't be any dimples in the couch, it's not a pin tuck type of look. I tried explaining this to the technician and showed him my ottoman and side chair since they're still in perfect shape and what did he do? He pulled as tightly as he could and gave my couch wrinkles and pouf factor.  He also didn't put the seat back in correctly because it now feels like you're falling off the couch. At least before it was comfy, now it's ugly and uncomfortable.  I tried telling him I felt like I was sliding off the couch and he basically said I was crazy and ran out the door.

So After a weekend of phone tag with the Brick Customer Service peeps, and my trying to help them save a buck, they're insisting on sending another technician to "FIX" what they call an "overstuff" and they're sending Dave, because acegirl has full confidence in "her Dave". Well why didn't you send "Dave" in the first place? And if Dave can't fix it then they'll have to send someone else the following week because their policy is to send a technician 3 times and then I can qualify for a reselection. Now I may not be a business entrepreneur, but sending a technician 3 times on a Saturday, paying them time 1/2  for a $700 couch hardly seems like the most efficient way of solving this problem.

This was fun, all the little nails and staples:

What's with the bumpy cushions? It looks like slices of bread:

Center cushion is now an 1" higher in the center!

Angry Birds Lite Level 7

This is driving me nuts!! I'm really starting to believe that it's impossible to get 3 stars on Level 7. I've tried everything, and it was a miracle that I got the 74k that I did and that only amounted to a 2 star rating... sooo bogus!! Anyways if anyone knows the secret to level 7, please please please share! :) I've tried finding walkthroughs on youtube and google and there's nothing for us who are to cheap to purchase the real Angry Birds!! lol

Sidenote: Ashley, this is all your fault! ;)

Just stuff it already!!

Soooo you might remember a while back, I was annoyed with the quality of my couch after less than a year. They sent some 19 year kid to come and "inspect" it. He agreed with me that it wouldn't do much to restuff it and that I'd have to keep having it restuffed until my warranty expired. So I got a call from the Brick offering me $200 to keep the couch as is and forfeit my warranty...

Well hmmmm here's the thing, I paid an extra $150 for the extended warranty, so really you're offering me $50 to keep a shizzy couch. Oviously I said no thanks and insisted on having a store credit so I could go pick out a different couch, one with reversable cushions, and in turn will be more expensive so they'd will make more money. They'd also get to take my couch, restuff it, and sell it because other than the floppiness it's in mint condition.  But it seems like the manager is taking a different route and called me to say that I must have the couch serviced and restuffed at my inconvenience and then take things from there. So by all means, come and restuff it, Finnegan is dying to help you, and there are no zippers on the ouch so I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing how they're going to manage this and keep it looking normal.

And so the couch saga conitnues...  from the very moment it arrived at my house with it's gaping hole in the front center cushion, to the 6 week exchange period where they came back with a vengence and broke my vase and fnally the last 3 months of me trying to get a new couch.

APPARENTLY they're coming on Saturday to stuff it with a higher density foam and we shall see how that goes.

I don't get it...

So I'm trying to sell my dinette set on Kijiji.ca and I've had it up before but didn't really actively try to sell it and had some offers here and there in the past but in the end I decided to just keep the table. Now I really want to sell it because I have my "fancy" new kitchen and I want a fancy new something to go with it. Is it financially smart on my part to do so... NO, but do I ever do anything financially smart, NO... so this shouldn't come to any surprise to most of you who know me.

Anyways in an effort to try and gain a better sale price for my table, I decided to take new photo's of the table, all set up with some plates and placemats... nothing Martha Stewart would find acceptable, but for Kijiji it's pretty darn presentable.  Now here's where my confusion sets in... why did my old shizzy pics yield more responses than my new pics?  Since posting my new pics I've also reduced the price, given more detail in the information box and I ended up with lame responses like $100 and I'll take it off your hands this weekend. Or I'm new to the country, deliver it for me and reduce the price. Uhhh people I'm not running a charity, I am the charity! I'm poor and I need cash, and since I don't have any gold I want to cash in, this is my next best option!!

So what's a girl to do? Well I reposted the ad and used some old and some new pics. The main pic is an old one... and what do you know... 2 responses already.  While I'm sure there won't be any bidding wars, I did learn a valuable lesson... when using kijiji, make things look as ugly as possible... give little to no detail, therefore enticing the potential buyers to contact you and if you make things look too pretty they might get intimidated.

A couple is coming to check the table out tomorrow... fingers crossed they offer a good price and take it away... I'm the worst negotiator and could quite possibly end up paying for someone to take it away for me.

Here's the pics I'm refering too, old than the new:

ADDICTIV

So remember that post about Curt and I being at the Sheraton on Canada Day weekend? Well when we were checking out we got to talking with this couple in front of us. Eventually we discovered that the girl was a singer and that they had filmed her newest video hence why they had stayed at the Sheraton. Anyways Curtis and I had no idea who she was because I'm the top 40 listener of our duo  and can't remember names/ songs ever. I didn't even know Justin Bieber was Canadian until my friends told me. lol. Yah I'm that bad...

Anyways back to this Addictiv lady, the couple was really nice, no pretentiousness at all and I know she's not Lady Gaga yet, but I jam out to this tune in the car all the time and had no idea it was her until I just confirmed it with my friend Mr. Youtube.  My only other claim to fame is the time I hung out with Dennis Rodman and by hanging out I mean I was 2 feet away from him while he bought my ex bf a drink... nice.

Anyways, Shoulda Coulda Woulda mentioned my whole Make-up business had I known she was ACTUALLY a chanteuse!! I am the worst sales person ever... anyone want to be my PR person, pro bono? lol

Oh! And by the wayyyyy:

Here's a snippet:

The bottom line: BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling operation may have triggered an irreversible, cascading geological Apocalypse that will culminate with the first mass extinction of life on Earth in many millions of years.

The oil giant drilled down miles into a geologically unstable region and may have set the stage for the eventual premature release of a methane mega-bubble.

Optimum Lameness

So I'm just about to go to Shoppers and thought I'd check my points balance and see what the new reward levels are and holy crap do things just ever keep getting worse. Not that I was close to getting the $150 but I had $25 and now I have like $10?  I must be the only person who forgot to go and redeem before the change but still.  In any case I went on the shoppers website and let me know if I'm crazy but nowhere on their site do they have the new reward levels. I entered my info, checked my balance, and that didn't even tell me what I was eligible for...  No matter because I went and checked with my buddy Mr. Google and found the old and new reward levels from someone else's blog, but since I'm not in advertizing I just copied and pasted and here they are mes amies:

DEVASTATED!!!

Was not expecting this at all!! I love Amanda Bynes and I was just talking with my girl Briggie yesterday while we both caught the end of "what a girl wants" saying that Sunday's wouldn't be the same without Amanda Bynes type movies!! Now she's announcing her retirement?
What next? Kate Hudson refusing to do RomCom's? I expect to see "how to lose a guy in 10 days" every other Sunday on the W channel or Diva, I can't remember which because I alternate all the time. Seriously though, they make weekend afternoon TV watching bareable!!

Goodbye dear friend, "you're the man".  lol

Whoa

So I just woke up 30 minutes ago, @ 1:40pm!! I haven't done that since my EARLY twenties!! I also went to bed at 12am so this  means I slept 14hrs.  Whatever, I'm sure I needed it from the lack of sleep I had the night before.  Oh that's right, I didn't post anything about my morning yesterday...  Woke up at 6am thinking it was noon. So I panicked and got up, then decided to check my phone for the time and saw that it was insanely early but couldn't get back to sleep for the life of me.  I figured why not take advantage of this weird phenomena and get ready.  I straightened my hair, airbrushed my face and packed a lunch and was at work 30 minutes early, and my boss is on vacation.... womp wooomp.

I did notice a slight burning smell when I woke up, but when I left the house it was really obvious, and if you live in Ottawa then I'm sure you noticed the smog and smoke smell from the forest fires somewhere. I'd tell you where I think they're coming from, but people keep telling me I'm wrong, that they're coming from Mason, nope, Val des Monts, actually, the Laurentians, wrong again it's Trois Rivieres.... Ahhh whatever, wherever the smoke is coming from it sucks and it's making me smell like summer camp.

Hmmmm what else is new, Oh! Did anyone ever watch The Wonder Years episode where Kevin has a monster zit and he can't get rid of it no matter how hard he tries?  Well that's me last night and this morning.  If anyone remembers my monster zit from me and Brigie's house warming party a fwe years back than you know the monstrosity I'm dealing with here. It has it's own heart beat and I'm positive that's how I got my headache making me miss work. (Oh noooooooo!!)

I'm way to vain to post any pictures, but it looks more like I got punched in the forehead than a zit and it actually is blue from the blue eyedrops I put on it to get rid of the redness.... which didn't work. Currently it's sitting pretty under a layer of toothpaste. I'd say a never fail cure, but I slept with some last night and here we still are... as one.

Anyways my clear skinned nemesi, enjoy your afternoon....

AT WORK!! BAH HA HA HA HA HA!!!
